The year before, a large contingent of Boca Juniors supporters adopted our club as their second, largely down to the close resemblance between the two clubs’ home kits at that time.
The links were further enhanced a few days before our Playoff Final success at Wembley Stadium, to which I believe some of those said fans attended.
WiSH Managing Director John Lynch, WOPA lead Ray Armfield, and his wife Sharon, recently the newest recipient of the WiSH Volunteer of the Year, were invited to an event hosted by the Argentinian Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Boca Juniors fan Andrés Di Fiore kindly sent through the invitation to the prestigious event at the Ambassador’s London residence. The Dons are certainly reaching lofty heights in the last few weeks, and it was a pleasure to keep these strong bonds going.
We are sure we will be seeing Boca fans again at the ground as we settle back into life in League One.
